What makes Pals Bar & Bottle Shop truly unique?

Our expertly made low ABV cocktails are made with high intention. Our program is focused on combining flavors of vermouths, aperitifs and spirit alternatives into drinks you won't find elsewhere in Chinatown.

They are deeply flavored, thoughtfully infused creations that bridge tradition and innovation.

Frequently Asked Questions

What are your hours of operation?
Answer: Our hours shift with the season, with holidays and with private bookings, so the listing we keep current is the reliable one. Check our Google Business Profile, or call (213) 286-0079 if you are planning around a particular time.
Do you have happy hour deals?
Answer: Yes. We run a happy hour with specials on select drinks and bites. The window moves occasionally, so check our current listing or ask your bartender for today's lineup.
What kind of bar are you: cocktails, wine, or beer?
Answer: All three. We are an aperitivo bar first, known for low-ABV cocktails built on vermouth, sherry and bitter aperitifs, alongside a thoughtful wine list and rotating craft beer. The attached bottle shop sells wine, spirits, beer and mixers to take home.
Do you host drink classes, tastings, or events?
Answer: Yes. We run ticketed mixology classes and tastings plus DJ nights, film screenings, chess night and pop-ups. The events page carries the current schedule and booking links.
Can I stop by without a reservation?
Answer: Walk-ins are welcome. For a larger group or a peak weekend slot, reserve ahead or send us a private events enquiry.
Do you have outdoor seating or a patio?
Answer: Yes, there is patio seating on the LA Plaza Village side. Availability depends on the weather and on whether the space is booked for a private event, so call ahead if the patio is the reason you are coming.
Do you offer non-alcoholic drinks or mocktails?
Answer: Yes. We build zero-proof cocktails with the same aperitivo approach as the rest of the menu and stock non-alcoholic bottles in the shop, so everyone at the table has something worth drinking.
Do you host private events or group bookings?
Answer: We do, including full buyouts. Send your date, headcount and occasion through the private events enquiry form and we will come back with options.
Are you kid-friendly?
Answer: We are primarily an evening bar and bottle shop. Minors must be accompanied by an adult, and policy can vary by event. Everyone buying alcohol is 21+ and ID is required.
What should first-time visitors order?
Answer: Start with a low-ABV spritz or a vermouth highball, ask for the seasonal special, then browse the bottle shop for whatever the team is excited about that week.
Where in Los Angeles are you, and where do I park?
Answer: We are at 555 N Spring St, Suite 106, in LA Plaza Village on the Chinatown edge of Downtown Los Angeles, a short walk from Union Station and Olvera Street. There is paid parking in the LA Plaza Village structure, and street parking on Spring and Ord.
